On Friday, the German party Alternative for Germany (AfD) condemned the European Union’s decision to grant an interest-free loan to Ukraine in the amount of 90 billion euros. Chrupalla: Russia will not pay any reparations after victory
EU leaders agreed on the loan for Ukraine on Friday night at the meeting of the European Council. The loan for a period of two years will be financed from the joint debt, which will be covered by the EU budget. Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary will be exempted from the joint debt program, which have negotiated an exemption.
AfD co-presidents Alice Weidelová and Tino Chrupalla criticized Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who has been pushing for an increase in EU financial support for Ukraine for a long time.
“Chancellor Merz is wasting German taxpayers’ money on a hopeless war. Russia will not pay any reparations after victory,” Chrupalla said in a press release.
