Trafficker from Minas Gerais is arrested by Interpol and extradited from Spain

A 25-year-old Brazilian, born in Carmo do Paranaíba (MG), was arrested in Spain and extradited to Brazil after a joint operation between Brazilian authorities, the Spanish Judicial Police and Interpol. The suspect was wanted by the Minas Gerais Court for crimes of drug trafficking e trafficking association.

The extradited man disembarked this Friday (19) at Tancredo Neves International Airportin Confins, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, escorted by Federal Police agents.

Prison in Spain

The man was located and detained in Spanish territory after issuing a Interpol red broadcasta mechanism used to locate and arrest internationally wanted criminals. The action is part of cooperation between Brazil and Spanish police authorities.

Against him there was a arrest warrant issued by the Single Court of the District of Rio Paranaíba, of the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais (TJMG), which supported the official extradition request.

Trafficking activities in Minas Gerais

According to investigations, the suspect had been involved in drug trafficking since 2018, in Carmo do Paranaíba, in Alto Paranaíba. According to the Federal Police, he acted in association with other people and sold substances such as marijuana, LSD and cocaine on a regular basis.

The prisoner must now respond to ongoing proceedings in the Minas Gerais court.
