The ISP (Institute of Public Security) released, this Friday (19), a survey on police productivity in Rio de Janeiro. Between January and November this year, the Civil and Military Police removed 848 rifles from the state’s streets, “one every 10 hours”.
According to the ministry, this is the largest seizure of this type of weapons in the history of RJ.
In these 11 months, security forces seized 5,677 weapons, arrested 38,951 people and there were 23,748 records of drug seizures, around 71 per day.
This data helps in the strategic planning of the Civil and Military police for the following year.
The research shows that in these 11 months, the PCRJ and PMRJ carried out 5,677 weapons seizures, an average of 17 per day.
The survey also points out that compared to the same period in 2024, the increase was 23.4%. The number of rifles seized was 687.
As I have been saying, a joint effort is essential to prevent these weapons of war from continuing to arrive in our state and fall into the hands of criminals
The data released by the Public Security Institute refers to Occurrence Records (RO) registered at the Civil Police stations in the State of Rio de Janeiro during the month of November.
