The content of the documents investigating the Jeffrey Epstein case released on Friday by the United States Department of Justice contains a series of references to Brazil.
Epstein was a financier linked to the New York elite convicted in 2008 of enticing minors into prostitution. He was found hanged in prison in 2019, before a new trial for sex crimes began. His death fueled numerous conspiracy theories that he was murdered to protect prominent figures.
In recent days, American authorities have released several files, many with stripes hiding information. Among them, there was a note referring to Brazil.

The text mentions a photo of a woman with the indication that she would not be aware of the image. It then indicates the person’s age, who would have been 17 years old when he went to Brazil and 20 years old when he returned to New York, in 2005. The document hides the name of the person in question.
Another document brings together several photos, but most of the images identified as “Brazil” are censored with a stripe.
Brazilian victim criticizes lack of transparency
On Saturday, the 20th, Brazilian Marina Lacerda, one of Epstein’s victims, gave an interview to Sky News. Marina criticized the partial disclosure of the documents and questioned the United States government’s lack of transparency. According to her, the disclosure was a “slap in the face” to the victims.
“We were all excited yesterday, before the files were released,” said Marina in an interview. “And when they left, we were in shock and saw that there was nothing transparent there. It’s very sad, it’s very disappointing.”
Marina’s first contact with the businessman occurred when she was 14 years old – today she is 37. Marina provided crucial information in 2018 to the FBI, the American Federal Police, in the investigation. In the process, she was described as “minor victim number 1” to have her identity preserved.
Documents disappear
This Sunday, the 21st, according to the Associated Press, at least 16 files disappeared from the US Department of Justice’s public page for documents related to Jeffrey Epstein – including a photograph showing President Donald Trump – less than a day after being posted, without any explanation from the government and without warning to the public. The disappearance of the photos raises yet another complaint that the White House was acting to hide the case.

In addition to Trump, former President Bill Clinton appears in photos. In one of them, Clinton is photographed in a pool with other women.
