The prisoner was identified as Gesse Diomar Mendes Barros, who had an open arrest warrant with a definitive sentence of 15 years in prison, to be served in a closed regime.

According to the Military Police, the fugitive was also on the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) wanted list, which reinforces the importance of joint action and interstate cooperation in combating crime.

After the arrest, the driver was sent to the competent authorities for the appropriate legal procedures and will be made available to the Court.
