A plane carrying federal deputy Maurício Carvalho (União-RO) and the councilor of Porto Velho, Márcio Pacele (Republicans), had to make a forced landing after experiencing a breakdown, this Saturday morning (20), in Extrema, a district of the capital of Rondônia.
Recordings made by people at the scene show the aircraft on fire and people trying to put out the fire. See below:
In addition to the politicians, Pacele’s advisors and son were also present on the plane. In a video published on social media, Carvalho explained that they were fulfilling an official agenda. He also thanked the prayer messages and stated that, despite the scare, no one was injured.
“We had a forced landing due to a breakdown in the aircraft, but everything is fine. Unfortunately, only material damage, a scare, a deliverance from God”, said the deputy.
“But to keep everyone calm, we are now returning home, by car, leaving Extrema. I want to say to everyone: thank you very much”, he concluded.
In a published note, Márcio Pacele stated that “everything is under control” and that he will soon speak out again.
CNN Brasil contacted the parliamentarians’ advisors and the Fire Department to find out more details and is awaiting a response.
