Woman died on plane, guarantees EasyJet; passengers say they already entered Malaga dead

Controversy installed. The airline refutes reports that family members transported the deceased woman on board, claiming that she was not feeling well and had fallen asleep. A woman would be fit to fly, says EasyJet.

The airline Easyjet declared, this Sunday, that an 89-year-old British woman who boarded a flight to London was alive when she got on board supported by her family and that she only died on the plane. However, the passenger version is very different.

“A EasyJet guarantees that the passenger was alive at the time of boarding the flight and that she did not die before boarding. This information is confirmed by the fact that she was traveling accompanied by two health professionals, being under their direct care”, declared the airline in a note sent to Lusa.

The airline refutes the version published by passengers on the plane and reported by various media outlets according to which the woman would already be dead when boarding took place for the flight that would cover the route between Malaga-Costa del Sol and London-Gatwick airports.

According to Easyjet, the woman was authorized to fly, as she was accompanied by a medical certificate of “fit to fly” and was “accompanied by qualified medical personnel during her journey”. According to Easyjet, “it was only after boarding that the passenger required medical assistance and, regrettably, she died”.

According to the British daily, citing witnesses to the incident, the Family members reportedly transported the woman on board, claiming that she was not feeling well and had fallen asleep, “tired”.

Shortly before takeoff, the cabin crew was alerted by passengers and the plane, which had already started to circle the runway, had to turn around and stop, before taking off 12 hours later, the newspaper adds.
