Anthony Joshua confirmed his favoritism and beat Jake Paul resoundingly in a media fight held in Miami and broadcast on Netflix, with an estimated purse of 157 million euros. The British boxer fulfilled his promise to knock out his opponent, ending the fight in the sixth round after causing a fracture to the North American’s jaw.
At a stage in which Jake Paul was already showing great physical exhaustion, Joshua intensified his attack and delivered two strong blows to his opponent’s face, putting an end to the fight. Shortly afterwards, Paul himself confirmed on social media that he suffered jaw fractures in two different places.
Despite the heavy defeat, Jake Paul appeared resigned and recognized his opponent’s superiority. He admitted to having been dominated by one of the best boxers in history, saying that Joshua’s weight and strength ended up making the difference. Still, he assured that he intends to return to the ring, now with the aim of competing against athletes in his category and fighting for the world cruiserweight title.
Anthony Joshua, who returned to the ring after more than a year away, made a critical analysis of his performance. The Brit acknowledged that it wasn’t his best performance, but stressed that the main objective was to win, something he ended up achieving, even if later than he expected. He also highlighted his opponent’s resistance, praising the way he got up several times throughout the fight.
In the end, Joshua also left a clear message for Tyson Fury, pointing to a possible future confrontation. The Briton challenged his rival to stop teasing him on social media and face him in the ring, admitting that he is focused on a big fight in 2026.
