From this Monday (22), the vehicle rotation is suspended in São Paulo until the beginning of January 2026. Suspension occurs at specific calendar periods, such as long holidays or the end of the yearwhere the City Hall temporarily allows the circulation of cars at all times and days of the week, without considering the end of the sign.
O rotation returns to operation on January 12, 2026and drivers who are caught driving at prohibited times will have to pay a fine of R$130, considered a medium infraction.
Return of restrictions
The , based on the vehicle’s final license plate number, during the hours of 7am to 10am and 5pm to 8pm.
The action is part of the Motor Vehicle Traffic Restriction Program in the Municipality of São Paulo, which aims to improve traffic conditions, by reducing the number of vehicles on public roads.
The restriction is based on the final digit of the vehicle license plate and day of the week. Look:
- Mondays: final digits 1 and 2;
- Tuesdays: final digits 3 and 4;
- Wednesdays: final digits 5 and 6;
- Thursdays: final digits 7 and 8;
- Fridays: final digits 9 and 0.
The return of the , as disobeying the rules after the end of the suspension is considered a traffic violation.
