Zurich – Austria’s national soccer team will end 2025 in 24th place in the world rankings. In the ranking published on Monday, European champions Spain are still in the lead, ahead of world champions and ÖFB World Cup group opponents Argentina. Algeria is in 34th place, Austria’s third World Cup group rival Jordan is 64th. Kosovo, coached by ex-ÖFB team boss Franco Foda, improved from 99th to 80th place over the course of the year and is therefore the newcomer of the year according to FIFA. (APA; December 22, 2025)
