Amount in cash was located during searches by Operation Galho Fraco, which investigates alleged irregular use of parliamentary quota
The (PF) finished counting the amounts collected during the execution of Operation Galho Fraco warrants. The official balance shows that R$469,700.00 in cash were seized from the federal deputy (PL-RJ).
The amount was located last Friday (19), the date on which agents carried out searches and seizures against the parliamentarian. The police action also targeted the deputy (PL-RJ), as well as advisors linked to the offices.
The investigation investigates the suspicion of diversion of public resources from the parliamentary quota — compensation funds intended to fund mandate activities. According to investigations, a fake car rental company had been used to irregularly receive these amounts. The PF is based on evidence collected from breaches of banking secrecy, statements and messages extracted from cell phones.
PF accounts for R$ 469.7 thousand seized from Sóstenes Cavalcante
In response to the action, Sóstenes Cavalcante declared that the money found had a legal origin, being the result of the sale of a property he owned. Both deputies investigated deny any irregularities and classify the operation as an act of political persecution.
