The event, entitled “Grande Clamor Pelo Brasil”, was promoted by senator Magno Malta (PL-ES) and brought together allies of the Bolsonaro family, including Carlos Bolsonaro (PL), former councilor of Rio de Janeiro, and Jair Renan Bolsonaro (PL-SC), councilor of Balneário Camboriú. Politicians such as senator Eduardo Girão (Novo-CE) and state deputies from different states also participated.
During his speech, Flávio Bolsonaro criticized the decision of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court, who mentioned a vigil called by the senator as a possible attempt at political turmoil and facilitating the escape of former president Jair Bolsonaro, currently under house arrest. According to Flávio, the call had a religious character.
“We are in a country where even calling a vigil to pray for one’s own father was interpreted as a crime,” he said.
Then, the senator adopted a religious tone when projecting next year’s electoral scenario. For him, the political dispute in Brazil would be part of a spiritual conflict.
“2026 will be about rescuing souls. This is, above all, a spiritual war. The other side evokes what is most perverse to oppress our nation”, he declared.
Flávio also mentioned a possible victory in the elections and made reference to Christian rituals at the end of his speech.
“May we sit at the table, have Holy Communion and celebrate the victory of good over evil,” he said.
The event also featured speeches from pastors and other parliamentarians aligned with the conservative camp. At the end, Flávio Bolsonaro asked the public to repeat a collective prayer.
