The meeting took place on the eve of Bolsonaro’s surgery; former first lady asked for perseverance in the face of ‘betrayals’ in a video published at the same time as Lula’s speech
The former first lady used social media on Wednesday night (24), Christmas Eve, to report the meeting between the former president (PL) and the couple’s youngest daughter, Laura. “They hugged each other and talked a lot, even between sobs,” he wrote.
In the same publication, Michelle stated that she would return home with her daughter to finish Christmas dinner, but that she would return to stay with her husband, who remains hospitalized at DF Star Hospital, where he will be (25).

Hours after publication, Michelle also released a video statement on the Liberal Party (PL) social media and on her own profile. The message was published at the same time as Luiz Inácio da Silva (PT).
In the video, Michelle spoke about faith, hope and resistance in the face of what she called “dark times” in the country. Without directly mentioning political opponents, he referred to disappointments and betrayals from people close to him and defended perseverance as the path for the coming years.
“The year that will soon begin is very important for our country and especially for the future of our families. Don’t let evil things get you down, persevere despite betrayals, even if they come from those closest to you”, he said.

The former first lady also asked for prayers for Jair Bolsonaro and for families who, according to her, were being unfairly treated.
Accompanied by old images of the former president in a hospital environment, the video also contained records of demonstrations by supporters.
