Puff pastry snacks are a classic on New Year’s Eve tables – fast, effective and always disappear from the plates quickly. Typically, a sheet of dough is used to prepare sticks with cheese, golden pockets with stuffing or pouches filled with meat. This time, however, it is worth choosing something lighter and fully vegetarian. This New Year’s Eve snack made of puff pastry is based on mushrooms fried with garlic, creamy sour cream and aromatic blue cheese, which makes it distinctive. The whole thing sprinkled with spices creates a filling perfect for a crispy, buttery setting, and the effect is elegant, filling and ready in a few minutes.
Ingredients:
- puff pastry packaging,
- 150 g mushrooms,
- 100 g blue cheese,
- garlic clove,
- 5 tablespoons of sour cream,
- egg for brushing,
- dried thyme for sprinkling,
- salt and pepper.
How to do it:
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Unroll the puff pastry and cut into 8-9 cm squares. Lightly score the edges of each square with a knife, creating a frame (approx. 1 cm from the edge), and lightly prick the center with a fork, which will make it bake better.
2. Clean the mushrooms and cut into thin slices. Chop the garlic finely. Heat the fat in a pan, add the mushrooms and fry over high heat until they evaporate and turn brown. Add finely chopped garlic, fry for a while. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
3. Crumble the blue cheese into pieces. Season the cream lightly with salt and pepper.
4. Spread a teaspoon of cream in the center of each square, add a portion of mushrooms and sprinkle with crumbled blue cheese. Sprinkle everything with a pinch of thyme.
5. Brush the edges of the squares with beaten egg.
6. Bake for 15-18 minutes at 200°C. The cheese should melt and the edges of the cookies should brown.
