An elegant snack for guests. Perfect for Christmas and New Year's Eve

Christmas and New Year’s Eve are a time to meet family and friends. So when guests come to your house, prepare for them an elegant snack for a special evening. Tiny sandwiches with an extremely creamy salmon and cheese mousse they will work perfectly here. The big advantage of this appetizer is the fact that you don’t need cutlery or a plate to eat it. This is an interesting idea for a simple finger food like from catering.

To prepare this recipe, you will need:

  • 10 slices of toast bread.

Ingredients for the mousse:

  • 250 g smoked salmon,
  • 250 g of cream cheese,
  • 2 tablespoons of sour cream,
  • 1 teaspoon of dried tomatoes powder,
  • salt and pepper to taste.

For decoration:

  • dill
  • red pepper in grains.

Cut each slice of toast into round discs using a cookie cutter or glass. Place them on a baking tray and lightly roast in the oven for a few minutes at 180°C until they become slightly crispy. Set aside.

Cut the salmon into smaller pieces and place in a blender. Add white cheese or cream cheese, sour cream and dried tomatoes. Mix until smooth and uniform. Season with salt and freshly ground pepper.

Place a portion of salmon mousse on each toast disc. You can do this with a pastry bag.

Garnish with a sprig of dill. Place a red peppercorn on top to add color.
