Confirmation of the death was made by Tainara’s mother, who published a message on social media lamenting the loss of “our Little Warrior”. The main suspect of the crime, Douglas Alves da Silva, 26 years old, Tainara’s ex-partner, is arrested.

Or case

The crime took place on November 30th, after an argument in a bar in the North Zone of São Paulo. According to witnesses, Douglas Alves da Silva did not accept the end of the relationship and, out of jealousy, used the car to run over Tainara. Security camera footage recorded the moment the young woman was hit and then dragged by the vehicle on one of the capital’s busiest roads.

Since the incident, Tainara had been hospitalized in serious condition at the Vereador José Storopolli Municipal Hospital, in Vila Maria. She underwent multiple surgeries and had both legs amputated. The story of Tainara, mother of two children, generated great national commotion, and her fight for life was followed by thousands of people, as can be seen in reports on the BandNews FM website.

The death

Tainara’s mother, who accompanied her throughout her hospitalization, published a message confirming her daughter’s death:

“It is with great pain that I come to inform you that our Little Warrior Tay has left us, Rested, I thank you in advance, All the prayer messages Affection and love that you had, With me and for my daughter. She has just left this Cruel world and is with God, it is a huge pain but the suffering is over and now it is time to ask for justice”

The statement reinforces the family’s request, which has been calling for justice since the beginning. In previous interviews, Tainara’s mother had already stated that she would be “her daughter’s legs”, demonstrating the strength and hope that marked the family’s struggle.

Next steps

Douglas Alves da Silva was arrested in the act hours after the crime and is charged with attempted feminicide. With Tainara’s death, the charge against him must change to qualified homicide, with aggravating factors such as a futile motive and the use of cruel means that made it impossible for the victim to defend himself. Douglas’ defense claims that he did not intend to kill. The case remains under investigation by the Civil Police, which will conclude the investigation and forward it to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to file a formal complaint.
