An IDF spokesman said the preliminary investigation shows that “the terrorist is an illegal resident who infiltrated Israeli territory a few days ago.”
Police said the attacker was eventually “tackled by a citizen” in the nearby town of Afola and taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
Katz’s order to raid Campatilla
Shortly after the attack, Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, ordered an Israeli military operation in the West Bank town of Kabatiyya (where the attacker was from), near Jenin.
In a statement, Katz said he ordered the Israeli military to “act with force and immediacy to identify and neutralize every terrorist and terrorist infrastructure” in the city, adding that “anyone who aids terrorism or provides funding and support to terrorism will pay the full price.”
