Russia shoots down 111 Ukrainian drones in three hours, says Defense Ministry

The capital’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, said another batch of 11 drones were also later shot down on their way to the city.

MOSCOW, Dec 27 (Reuters) – Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 111 Ukrainian drones in three hours over six Russian regions, including eight over Moscow.

The capital’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, said another batch of 11 drones were also later shot down on their way to the city.

Russian aviation watchdog Rosaviatsia said Moscow’s Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo airports had imposed temporary airspace restrictions for security reasons.
