Telephone technicians are kidnapped by armed men while on duty and released after video call

Two telephone technicians were victims of a kidnapping this Saturday afternoon (27), in the Luiz Anselmo neighborhood, in Salvador. According to the Civil Police of Bahia, the workers were carrying out a service in the region when they were surrounded by six armed men, who prevented the activity from continuing and kept them under threat.

The victims, aged 19 and 43, had two cell phones taken by the suspects. According to initial investigations, the group would be linked to a criminal faction that operates in the capital of Bahia.

According to the police, the technicians were only released after the criminals contacted an accomplice via video call. During the call, the man authorized the workers to be released.

The case is investigated by the 6th Territorial Police Station of Brotas, which investigates the crimes of extortion for obtaining an economic advantage and flash kidnapping. Efforts are underway to clarify the circumstances of the crime and identify those involved.
