After further setbacks, he definitively focused only on work, until Olga Škopková († 40), a charming doctor specializing in psychiatry, entered his life. He started a family with her and together they raised a daughter, Klára, and a son, Prokop. Olga was later diagnosed with cancer, and despite all the efforts of doctors and those closest to her, she succumbed to it in 2007. Jan devotedly took care of her until the end and then gradually disappeared from public life.

He stood in front of the camera for the last time in 2018. In an interview he gave 13 years ago, he said chilling words. “We are prisoners of our accelerated world, to quote a little.
