Just hours before his death, Chris Rea posted a post on social media referencing his famous Christmas song Driving Home for Christmas. The singer died on Monday, December 22 at the age of seventy-four.
Chris posted a picture of a car driving down a snowy highway with a road sign reading: “Driving home for Christmas with a thousand memories.” in translation, I travel home for Christmas with thousands of memories. “Head to toe in columns. If it’s a white Christmas, let’s hope the road is smooth,” added the description to the photo, which you can find in the gallery.
The news of Chris Rey’s death was announced by his family three days before Christmas. “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Chris. He passed away peacefully in hospital this morning after a short illness, surrounded by his family,” his wife Joan and their daughters said in a statement.
