The lawyer Pedro Rebelo de Sousa was approached via WhatsApp by someone claiming to be his daughter and urgently asking for money to make a payment. He was left without 987 euros.
The brother of the President of the Republic was the victim of the scam known as “hello father, hello mother”.
According to the Pedro Rebelo de Sousa was left without 987 euros, in 2022, when the scam was still little known. The lawyer was approached via WhatsApp by someone who claimed to be his daughter and urgently asked for money to make a payment.
Pedro Rebelo de Sousa ended up making a transfer, but he wasn’t the only one. The former PSD deputy, Eduardo Oliveira e Sousa, was also left without 3,600 euros.
Also in this case, the fraudsters pretended to be Oliveira e Sousa’s daughter and used the same excuse.
