A will suspend martial law when the war with Russia ends and after obtaining security guarantees from its Western allies, the president said on Monday (29).

“First of all, we all want the war to end and only then will martial law be lifted. This is the only way. However, the end of martial law will happen when Ukraine obtains security guarantees,” Zelensky told the press.

“Without security guarantees, this war cannot be considered to have truly ended. We cannot accept that it has ended because, with a neighbor like this, there continues to be a risk of another aggression,” he added.
