The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) published the definitive ranking of South American clubs for the period from December 1, 2024 to November 30, 2025. Results in national and international tournaments were taken into account. Brazilian dominance was evident: half of the Top-10 is made up of teams from the country.
At the top comes Flamengo, who scored 400 points after a historic season with titles in the Brazilian Championship and Copa Libertadores. Close behind are Palmeiras (378 points), Fluminense (314) and Botafogo (264). Atlético-MG closes the list of Brazilians in the top ten, in 8th place, with 216 points.
In addition to clubs from Brazil, the ranking features traditional representatives from other countries: Argentine clubs Racing Club, River Plate and Lanús; the Colombian Atlético Nacional; and the Ecuadorian LDU Quito.
The IFFHS ranking is updated monthly and serves as a thermometer of continental performance, reinforcing the strength of Brazilian football in South America in 2025.
