Trump says he is unaware of Russian information that Ukraine tried to attack Putin’s house

United States President Donald Trump said he was unaware of Russian information that Ukraine had attempted to attack the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The president said he had a productive conversation with Putin earlier, amid a new round of efforts to reach a settlement over the war in Ukraine. But the American leader said there are some thorny issues with Putin. The comments came ahead of his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

The White House seeks to give new momentum to the US-brokered ceasefire in Gaza, which risks stalling before a complex second phase. The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, championed by Trump, has been largely respected, but progress has slowed recently. Both sides accuse each other of violations. The issue of Gaza, as well as Turkey, would be topics of the meeting with Netanyahu.

Trump also addressed two other issues. Regarding Venezuela, the American president said that there was a large explosion in a dock area where drugs were being loaded. The American president also said that he spoke with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro recently, but that not much came out of the conversation.

On Iran, Trump said he had heard that the country was trying to become stronger again and that this could trigger an American response. “I will support rapid strike if Iran continues to strengthen nuclear,” he said.

The Israeli prime minister stated that it is a blessing to have Trump at the head of the United States and the “free world”.
