Arsenal beat Aston Villa 4-1

London – Arsenal temporarily increased their lead in the English Premier League to five points with a gala performance. The Londoners beat third-placed Aston Villa 4-1 (0-0) on Tuesday after an outstanding second half. Villa had previously won eleven competitive games in a row. Arsenal’s first rivals Manchester City are in action in Sunderland on New Year’s Day (9 p.m. CET) and have to step up their game.
