The dictator of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, criticized the United States’ media coverage of his country during an inauguration ceremony of the International School of Women’s Leadership in Aragua this Tuesday (30).
In his speech, Maduro accused the United States of spreading disinformation about Venezuela, stating: “The United States wants to veto us and only spreads fake news and wars against a noble country like Venezuela. Everything they say is a lie.”
He called on those present to combat this media narrative.
By highlighting the role of women in leadership, Maduro has placed them at the center of his vision for 2026.
“This is the year of the brave challenge, and I hand it over to women, and I put women at the forefront of the year 2026, so that women lead the brave challenge of 2026… Brave Challenge 2026, Victory forever, forever, forever. No insane wars,” said the regime leader.
The event, marked by music and dance, included a performance of the song “No Crazy War”, during which Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, joined those present to dance.
US President Donald Trump has accused the South American country of flooding the US with drugs, and has been carrying vessels for months that he claims were transporting drugs.
Many nations condemned the attacks as extrajudicial killings. Trump has also frequently threatened to launch bombings against drug trafficking infrastructure on land and targeting Caracas.
