According to media reports, French President Emmanuel Macron wants to ban the use of social media by children under 15 years of age. In addition, the ban on mobile phones in schools for this age group should be extended to older students, the newspaper Le Monde and the broadcaster France Info reported on Wednesday. France had already passed a law in 2023 according to which young people under the age of 15 are only allowed to use social media platforms with the consent of their legal guardians.
