The Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo is getting closer and closer to reaching a milestone reached by two great icons of Brazilian football: Pele and Romário. After breaking several records in his career, CR7’s focus is now on reaching the thousand official goals.
“I want to win more titles and reach that number of thousand goals”, declared Cristiano Ronaldo in a recent speech, after receiving the award for best player in the Middle East.
Pelé has scored 1283 goals and Romário 1002 during his career.
This mid-week, in Al-Nassr’s draw with Al-Ettifaq by the score of 2-2, in a duel valid for the Saudi Championship, the star scored the 957th goal of his professional career.
In the 22nd minute of the second half, João Félix finished and Cristiano Ronaldo deflected it into the back of the net. With this goal, the Portuguese needs 43 more goals to reach the long-awaited historic milestone.

For the Portugal national team, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 143 goals for the main team (not counting the youth teams). At clubs, he scored the most goals wearing Real Madrid (450) and Manchester United (145) shirts.
