Limitation of flights in the Caribbean will end in the early hours of Sunday, says secretary

US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said on Saturday that restrictions around Caribbean airspace would expire at 2 a.m. Brasília time. With this, flights could be resumed.

Airlines have been informed and will update their schedules quickly, as Duffy posted on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

In the early hours of last Saturday (3), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), citing security risks related to ongoing military activities.

The emergency restriction applies to all altitudes within the San Juan Flight Information Region, a large swath of Caribbean airspace, and covers U.S. airlines, commercial operators and FAA-certified pilots.

American military and state aircraft would be exempt and flights could only operate with.
