The Venezuelan midfielder will be delayed in the re-presentation of Botafogo, which is scheduled for Sunday. He was unable to leave his home country, where he spends his holidays. Botafogo’s number 10 is in the Venezuelan capital Caracas with his family, and everyone is safe. The plans were to return to Brazil this Saturday and return to Botafogo the next day, but US attacks closed Venezuela’s airports.

After the re-presentation, which will be attended by the new coach, Argentine Martín Anselmi, Botafogo makes its season debut on Thursday, when it faces Portuguesa, in the Campeonato Carioca. Jefferson Savarino was the target of interest from Corinthians, who offered a swap with the Rio team, but there was no consensus. At 29 years old, the midfielder born in Maracaibo has been at Botafogo since 2024 and has already played for the club in 103 games, with 20 goals and 20 assists. He participated in the Brazilian and Libertadores title campaigns in 2024. Before that, he played for Atlético-MG in Brazil.
