This Wednesday (07/01), Atlético-MG, Hulk and Fluminense entered a new phase of conversations to decide the attacker’s futurecurrently 39 years old. Now, negotiations are conducted directly between the clubs, after the player’s team, led by Marisa Alija, ended its participation in the negotiations last Tuesday night (06/01). The website “ge.com” published the information initially.
The move marks another chapter in the long negotiation involving Hulk. On Tuesday, Atlético-MG shareholder, Rafael Menin, kept in touch with Mário Bittencourt, former president of Fluminense and currently a collaborator on the Tricolor board. During the conversation, Menin made it clear that Galo accepts discussing the athlete’s release, as long as there is financial compensation to the Minas Gerais club.
Currently, Hulk’s termination fine is set at R$60 million, but there is room for flexibility in the amount in order to facilitate an agreement between the parties. This Wednesday, Mário Bittencourt contacted Paulo Bracks, Atlético’s executive director of football, who confirmed the club’s interest in negotiating the striker with Fluminense.
While conversations progress behind the scenes, Hulk returned to training normally with the Atlético-MG squad. After an outburst published on social media on Tuesday night, the player’s representatives decided that he will continue fulfilling his contract with Galo until the end of 2026.
Furthermore, the striker’s staff does not intend to activate the automatic renewal clause for another year, which could be activated if Hulk reaches the mark of 50% of the games played by Atlético this season.
In the outburst written by Hulk, the attacker highlighted, without mentioning Fluminense, that the proposal made by the club interested in him was, from a sporting point of view, superior to the offer made by Atlético-MG so far. However, in the financial aspect, the proposal was smaller.
Hulk activated candid mode on Instagram and came out with a general response. Great content for a Tuesday pic.twitter.com/5HTCbifMGc
