Living in Portugal since childhood, he gained notoriety in the country when he participated in the reality show Casa dos Segredos, although he did not win the competition.
With exposure on the Portuguese channel TVI, the DJ accumulated more than 40 thousand followers on Instagram, where he shared his routine that included photo shoots and performances on the electronic music circuit in Portugal.
He had been in a relationship shortly before his disappearance. On social media, Raquel Coelho mourned the death of her boyfriend. “I would give anything to have you back, everything. How much I miss your smile. It doesn’t make sense without it”, he said.
The DJ’s death was confirmed by a friend last Wednesday “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maycon Douglas. The family is grateful for the messages of affection and solidarity received and asks for respect, understanding and space at this time”, he said in a post on social media.
According to the local press, the young man had been missing since December 31st. The police had already found the Brazilian’s car submerged on a beach in the region.
According to the National Maritime Authority, the body was sent to the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences in Leiria, where forensic examinations will determine the cause of death. Portuguese authorities are investigating the case.
