Cotrim Figueiredo visits a candle factory in Porto de Mós and talks about the "smell of future and change" in the country

João Cotrim de Figueiredo maintained the focus on older people’s issues and was in Vagos to talk about the role of the President of the Republic, responding to older people’s questions. Before that, he visited a candle factory in Mira de Aire.

Among the aromas of apple, red fruits or jasmine from the Manulena candle, cosmetics and diffuser factory, in Porto de Mós, presidential candidate Cotrim Figueiredo said he was smelling a “smell of future and change” in the country.

“Hmm, it smells like the future”said the MEP, while smelling a white candle among the thousands that were being produced at the factory, founded in 1968, in the district of Leiria.

During the tour, which lasted more than an hour and allowed the entire manufacturing process to be seen, the former IL leader assured, after one of the owners revealed the ambition to increase the space, that, as soon as possible, would come to inaugurate himself as President of the Republic.

“Members of the Civil House, don’t forget this promise because I keep what I say”, he stated, while, to the side, he heard “yes, then come here as President of the Republic”.

Among the many corridors, shelves and warehouses, where the most diverse shapes of candles and cream packaging could be seen, Cotrim Figueiredo stopped in the mold area and decided to risk putting the “hands on”.

He took a mug of wax and poured it into a mold, which the employee was already filling, saying that there was habits that can be reshaped as long as you are careful.

“This mold takes three to four hours to be ready, the country may take a little longer, but I’m sure we’re doing the right thing,” he said.

As I listened to the explanations of a chemical engineer, especially about the candles used for massages, Cotrim Figueiredo confessed to needing awhen the January 18 elections are still more than a week away.
