The overflow of Igarapé Batista caused new problems this Monday morning (11) in Rio Branco. On Rua Botafogo, Bairro da Paz, the force of the water was enough to completely cover the walkway that connects the two sides of the road, interrupting pedestrian passage.

Civil Defense was on site, recording and monitoring the situation. The agency is closely monitoring the rise in the level of streams and the Acre River, given the continued rain that has hit the capital since Sunday night.

With the walkway submerged, residents had to look for alternative routes, while some, including children, took risks crossing the walkway. The large volume of trash stranded in the structure also drew attention amid the seriousness of the situation.
