Australian Open launches challenge with prize of R$36 million – 01/13/2026 – Sports

Tennis fans in Australia can win US$6.71 million (R$36 million) by guessing the winner of every Australian Open match, tournament organizers said on Tuesday (13).

Called the “Prediction Challenge”, the millionaire prize will be offered to anyone who can perfectly predict the results of all 127 games in the men’s or women’s singles brackets before the start of the tournament, on Sunday (18).

“This is a game of skill, not luck,” Cedric Cornelis, commercial director of Tennis Australia (the country’s tennis association), said in a statement.

“The Australian Open Prediction Challenge aims to reward tennis knowledge and create an exciting new way for fans to interact with the tournament.”

Participants must send their complete predictions after the singles brackets are announced on Thursday (15).

This year’s competition is exclusive to Australian residents and the period to try your luck in the tournament closes one hour before the first match on Sunday, with a limit of one entry per bracket.

Consolation prizes will also be offered for those who fail to achieve perfection, with the highest scoring groups in each draw winning US$6,700 (R$36,000).

The Australian Open takes place from January 18th to February 1st at Melbourne Park.
