The municipal coordinator of Civil Defense, Major Sandro, explained that, despite a brief stabilization recorded the previous night, the volume of rain once again had a direct impact on the river level. According to him, there was even a small start of low water, with a reduction of around two centimeters, on Thursday night (15).

“Early in the morning it started to rain a lot here in our region, approximately 125 millimeters of rain, which caused the river level to rise again”, reported the coordinator during an inspection of the municipality’s water level.

Also according to Major Sandro, the rain was mainly concentrated in the Brasiléia region, which contributed to the rapid rise in the level of the Acre River. On the other hand, more distant areas, such as Aldeia dos Patos, continue to record low water levels, which indicates that the scenario may vary throughout the day.

Civil Defense reported that monitoring will be intensified from now on, with new measurements expected throughout the day. A new official bulletin should be released at noon, providing updated information on the river’s situation and possible preventive measures.

The authorities remain on alert and advise the riverside population to follow official announcements, as the level of the Acre River remains high and may undergo further changes depending on weather conditions.
