It is a rare event: next Monday, January 19th, a new subway station in the east of Vienna will go into operation. So far, the U2 has rushed through in the direction of Seestadt Aspern between the Aspernstrasse and Hausfeldstrasse stations in the 22nd district; in the future, the new Lina-Loos-Platz station will also be served. According to Wiener Linien, the subway network will grow to 110 stations. Most recently, subway stations were added on September 2, 2017 with the expansion of the U1 to Oberlaa.
