Kampala – Ugandan presidential candidate and opposition leader Bobi Wine says he has escaped a kidnapping attempt by state security forces. “I would like to confirm that I was able to escape them,” wrote former musician Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, on X on Saturday. His National Unity Platform (NUP) party had previously announced that Wine had been forcibly abducted by an army helicopter.
