One blue macaw died after being tied to a wire and hidden inside a trunk of a car that was traveling this Wednesday morning (4), on a section of BR-316, in the city of Monsenhor Gil, in Piauí.
The case was confirmed by the Federal Highway Police, who rescued the animal alive. According to the corporation, in addition to being prey, the wild bird had a sawn beak and was transported without authorization from the competent environmental agencies.
The action began after a complaint that there had been an incident of illegal animal transport. During the journey, the driver of the suspect vehicle overtook in a prohibited area, which led to the approach. During the inspection, the police found the animal in poor condition.

The bird was rescued and sent to IBAMA (Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources) to receive care and appropriate disposal. However, it was reported that the macaw did not survive.
According to the PRF, and the appropriate legal measures were adopted.
