In partnership with the State Government, through the State Secretariat of Justice and Public Security, Sejusp met this Wednesday, the 4th, with various security bodies to complete the traffic and security planning for the Magid Almeida Carnival 2026, which will take place at Praça Orleir Cameli, between the 14th and 17th. Security will feature state and federal security agents and private security guards hired by the City Hall.
Each night there will be 50 military police officers and 40 private security guards. A Military Police command post will be installed in the Caixa Econômica Federal parking lot and teams from the Fire Department, Emergency Care Service-SAMU, will be on site. The Federal Highway Police and Army will provide support to state forces.
The security structure was expanded due to the possible increase in revelers, as there will be no carnival celebrations in neighboring municipalities. Agents from the State Department of Traffic, DETRAN and the Municipal Department of Mobility and Traffic will be responsible for the organization and safety of traffic in the central area of the city.
Traffic Planning
The Municipal Department of Traffic, Urban Mobility and Transport, together with Detran, will be responsible for organizing traffic during Carnival.
Secretary Jonas Lima details the organization of traffic on the roads during the festivities.
“As the Municipal Traffic Secretariat, we will be operating and collaborating on the issue of road safety during the carnival period, both for the people who will participate and for other people who will be using the roads normally during the day. We made a plan together with the Military Police and DETRAN so that we can carry out as many monitoring and inspection actions as traffic education actions with the aim of ensuring that we can end a peaceful carnival in terms of traffic,” highlighted Saraiva.
During the Carnival period, streets in the Center will be closed from 4 pm to 4 am. All traffic agents from the municipality and DETRAN, as well as the Military Police Traffic Squad will be working to monitor and prevent traffic accidents.
The Deputy Secretary of Security of the State of Acre, Colonel Evandro Bezerra, explained that the State will be contributing to making the carnival a success.
“We consider that there will be a large movement of people from this region to this city. And then, the public security system has sought, in light of these facts, to bring together, to propose integrated planning with all forces so that we are prepared for any criminal eventuality here in this region,” he said.
The Commander of the Fire Department in Cruzeiro do Sul, Major Josadac Cavalcante emphasized that the Fire Department will be responsible for monitoring and preventing accidents at the event site.
“The Fire Department begins its activities well before the festive activities, carrying out the preventive part of inspection and certification of the event sites to guarantee this safety, ensuring that the place is safe so that people do not come there if they are affected by an accident during the activities. And throughout the period of the activity we will have teams there on site carrying out this panic prevention and assistance activity,” concluded the commander.
The city hall will guarantee 79 entrepreneurs with the sale of food and drinks, cleaning the space before and after the party, organizing traffic and several other services.
