Bulls: Morante, Roca, Ortega and Aguado cement an April Fair with few new features | Culture

Juan Ortega and Pablo Aguado, with four bullfights each, are the foundations of the 2026 season ticket, which was presented on Monday night at a gala held at the Cartuja Center in the Andalusian capital, and attended by about 2,000 people, according to the organization, including some of the announced bullfighters, such as Morante de la Puebla, who reappeared in public after his retirement on December 12. October.

The season will open on April 5, Easter Sunday, the continued cycle of the fair will be held from April 11 to 26; The Corpus bullfight is recovered, after 16 years, on June 4; and the San Miguel Fair will take place between September 24 and 27.

18 bullfights, six bullfights and a bullfighting show are the festivities that make up the Sevillian cycle, in which Borja Jiménez, Alejandro Talavante, José María Manzanares, Daniel Luque are announced three afternoons for a total of 29 bullfighters, including some young people such as Fabio Jiménez, Aarón Palacio, Molina, Javier Zulueta and Víctor Hernández.

Among the absences, those of Paco Ureña, Fernando Adrián, Curro Díaz, Ginés Marín and Marco Pérez, among others, stand out.

Nothing new in the livestock aspect compared to past years, except the presentation of Álvaro Núñez and Puerto de San Lorenzo and the double of Garcigrande and Hnos. García Jiménez.

The new businessman of the plaza, José María Garzón, explained the advantages for the subscribers—“my VIP clients,” he said—which are as follows: for the first time, they will enjoy a 10% discount on the price of the subscription, 50% discount on bullfights without horses, free entry to the Antequera Sale, where some of the announced bullfights will be exhibited, and 10% discount on the other plazas of his company, Lances de Future.

All of this, for the first time in the history of this square, was presented in style during a spectacular gala in which the acrobatic group Dinamic, the singer María Espinosa, the flamenco singer Diego Carrasco, Maestro Tejera’s band, who performed the national anthem, and the clarineros of the Sevillian square performed.

Victoria Collantes and Juanma Lamet acted as presenters, insisting that “a new era of the essences of Seville with a vocation for modernity is beginning,” and congratulated the new businessman “because you have the jewel in the crown and I hope you enjoy it very much.”

The two of them presented the different combinations of the posters, and gave way to Garzón’s interventions, so excited that he limited himself to thanking them for the trust placed in him and telling the advantages of being a subscriber; to Jorge Paradela, Minister of Industry of the Junta de Andalucía, who spoke on behalf of the Minister of the Interior, Antonio Sanz, dedicated to the consequences of the recent rains, and to the mayor of Seville, who was the only one who remembered the company Pagés, previous manager of the square. “I want to thank,” he said, “the entity that has managed the plaza for 90 years, and has consolidated it as the epicenter of bullfighting worldwide.”

During the gala, the organization announced that the businessman will hold a press conference tomorrow, Wednesday, to explain the content of the posters.

For the first time, subscribers will have a 10 percent discount on the box office price
