Among the signatories is , which had been acting as an ally of the governor and helping to shield him. The other two are Izalci Lucas (PL) and Leila Barros (PDT). The trio asks him to explain to the working group about the scandal created by the president of the commission, Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL).
“The invitation appears necessary, timely and fully justified given the central role he plays [Ibaneis] performed in all stages leading up to the operation”, says the request.
The document recalls that “it was the governor of the Federal District who politically decided for the acquisition of Banco Master by BRB, a public bank belonging to the population of the Federal District, taking a direct role in conducting the process.”
In a harsh tone, the senators add that Ibaneis acted as a “poster boy” for the acquisition, “even in the face of technical alerts, questions from experts and concerns expressed by control bodies and sectors of the financial market.”
for the operation to be carried out “at any cost, including political and institutional pressure to accelerate decisions.”
Ibaneis has been under pressure since the case broke out, for having defended the purchase of Master by BRB.
