SuperBowl and Bad Bunny show close to record audience – 02/11/2026 – Sports

The Seattle Seahawks’ victory over the New England Patriots in Sunday’s Super Bowl (8), and Bad Bunny’s long-awaited halftime show, did not break audience records, according to data released on Tuesday (10).

The Seahawks’ 29-13 victory over the Patriots in the NFL championship game averaged 124.9 million viewers across NBC, streaming platform Peacock, Spanish-language platform Telemundo, NBC Sports Digital and NFL+, according to same-day ratings from media research firm Nielsen.

That makes it the second-most-watched Super Bowl halftime show in U.S. history, behind the 127.7 million viewers who watched the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in the 2025 Super Bowl, broadcast on Fox.

During the second quarter, the game reached 137.8 million viewers, the highest peak audience in American television history.

Telemundo averaged 3.3 million viewers, making it the most-watched Super Bowl in the history of Spanish-language television in the United States.

Telemundo’s audience peaked during the halftime show, averaging 4.8 million viewers, making it the most-watched in Spanish-language television history.

Overall, the halftime show featuring Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican star who became the first to perform entirely in Spanish, averaged 128.2 million viewers.

Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance at the 2025 Super Bowl was the most-watched in history, with 133.5 million viewers.

Lamar surpassed the record of 133.4 million viewers set by Michael Jackson in 1993.

A weak first half of this year’s Super Bowl may have contributed to the lower viewing figures.

This was also the first Super Bowl to be reported using Nielsen’s Big Data + Panel method, a hybrid system that combines data from panel homes and smart devices like smart TVs.

Previous reports used panel-only Nielsen measurement.
