Trump administration withdraws ICE and Border Patrol forces from Minnesota

The government is moving forward with its (ICE) forces as well as the Border Patrol from , according to statements by “border czar” Tom Homan.

Homan said that in recent weeks there has been significantly better cooperation with local authorities, both in delivering illegal immigrants from prisons and in managing violent protests and road blockades. At the same time, as he noted, the two months of federal presence had the effect of removing most of the deportation targets from the streets.

“I have proposed, and President Trump has agreed, to complete this operation,” he said.

According to him, the forces located in the greater Minneapolis area will either return to the areas from which they came or move to other emergency operations.

A small team will remain temporarily to complete the exit process and hand over responsibilities to the ICE regional office, which normally employs about 150 workers.

The withdrawal marks the end of a particularly difficult period for Donald Trump, as support for his immigration agenda has been shaken after the deaths of two US citizens during clashes with the Homeland Security Agency.
