An accident involving a car and a trailer left three people dead and one seriously injured this Saturday morning, 14, at km 42 of the southern section of the Rodoanel Mário Covas, in Itapecerica da Serra, in Greater São Paulo. All victims were in the car.
According to the SPMar concessionaire, responsible for the road, the accident occurred at around 5:30 am, on the inner lane. The fourth victim was rescued under code red (classification that indicates serious condition) and taken to a hospital in the region.
According to the dealership, the passenger car was a Fiat Uno, which was traveling in lane 1 when, for reasons still unknown, the driver lost control of the direction.
The collision would have occurred against the concrete barrier in the median.
Then the vehicle crossed the three lanes of the highway and crashed into the metal barrier on the shoulderstopping in lane 3.
A trailer, which was coming right behind, was unable to brake in time and hit the car, which was dragged for about 50 meters.
Lane closed for inspection
After the accident, the lane 3 and the shoulder remained closed for forensic work.
According to SPMar, there was no record of congestion at the location.
The circumstances that led the driver to lose control of the vehicle are still being investigated.
