Paris – A man armed with a knife attacked a gendarme at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris on Friday. The anti-terror public prosecutor’s office spoke of an assassination attempt and initiated an investigation into attempted murder with a terror connection and membership in a terrorist organization, as the authority announced. The attacker was shot by another gendarme during the incident early in the evening and died.
