A fire in a boat recorded this Saturday morning (14) mobilized residents of the Igarapé Preto village, in the rural area of , and raised awareness about the necessary care for boats used daily as the main means of transport in the region.
According to reports from residents, the fire had started in the engine while the vessel was docked, quickly spreading to the rear and generating concern among those present, mainly due to the risk of explosion due to the presence of fuel.
The boat’s driver was the only one injured. He suffered burns when trying to contain the flames in the first moments, in an attempt to prevent the fire from taking on greater proportions. Despite the scare and material damage, there were no records of other victims.
The quick action of residents was essential to control the fire and avoid more serious consequences. The exact causes of the fire still need to be determined by the competent authorities.
