The Federal Revenue Service carries out internal tracking to check whether there has been a breach of confidentiality in the data of ministers of the Federal Supreme Court and around 100 family members, according to the Folha de S.Paulo this Sunday (15).
According to the newspaper, the list includes parents, children, siblings and spouses of the Court’s ten ministers. The request to analyze the information came from Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
To complete the work, IRS auditors would need to carry out around 8,000 checking procedures. People interviewed by the newspaper on condition of anonymity stated that the volume of checks makes the process time-consuming.

The tax authorities would be analyzing data distributed across 80 different systems, and the completed reports would be sent directly to Moraes’ office.
HAS Sheetthe IRS stated that it does not comment on legal demands to preserve the confidentiality of information. “This process is under judicial secrecy, only the STF is responsible for any authorization for disclosure,” said the body in a note. “The Revenue receives several legal demands for information, but does not respond to them due to tax secrecy and, often, also judicially, as is the case”.
The minister’s request was made, according to people who follow the investigations heard by the Sheetas part of the fake news inquiry, opened in 2019 to investigate attacks against members of the Supreme Court.

The movement occurs in the context of the institutional crisis triggered by the collapse and liquidation of Banco Master, which worsened after the Federal Police handed over to the president of the STF, Edson Fachin, a report that made Minister Dias Toffoli lose reporting on the case. According to Sheetthe situation generated suspicion about possible leaks of information protected by banking and tax secrecy.
The PF, according to the newspaper, is not currently participating in the investigation into any possible leak. The vehicle also reported that STF ministers are discussing the possibility of investigating conduct by the PF and the Revenue during proceedings in the Court itself.
Moraes’ request was made in January, after the release of information that pointed to links between his and minister Dias Toffoli’s family members with Banco Master, an institution suspected of involvement in fraud investigated by the Federal Police in different states.
