Digital sovereignty is the word of the day in the EU. By decoupling from US providers, the aim is to become economically independent, but also to close security gaps. The institutions are apparently becoming aware that their own IT infrastructure also represents a gateway for hostile actors. The EU Parliament has reportedly blocked AI features on its employees’ work devices.
